The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has added the historical texture of Yazd in central Iran to its list of world heritage sites. According to the UNESCO website, the historical structure of Yazd is a collection of public-religious architecture in a very large scope comprising of different Islamic architectural elements of different periods in a harmonious combination with climatic conditions.
Iran Hosting 17th International Convention of World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations in Tehran from January 28 to February 1. The ceremony officially opened on Saturday 28 Jan 2017 in the presence of President Hassan Rouhani. Addressing the opening ceremony of 17th WFTGA Convention, President Hassan Rouhani counted tourism as a bridge between countries. Lut Desert was inscribed on the World Heritage as Iran’s 21st item in the list. The inscription came a couple of days after the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) registered eleven Iranian qanats on the World Heritage List in its July 15 session.
